Why is my Cash App money not showing up in my bank account? When you deposit to your bank from your Cash App account, the money should show up in your bank account within a specified length of time. Sometimes, things happen and the money doesn’t show up; what may be wrong in that scenario?
First, it’s crucial to be aware that your Cash App account is managed independently of your bank account. Money from your Cash App account doesn’t automatically sync to your bank account until you’ve made an instant deposit, and with that, only the specified amount gets deposited.
But, what if, after a deposit, your Cash App money still doesn’t show up in your bank account? In that case, something has certainly gone wrong. In this article, we’ll take a look at some of the things that might have possibly gone wrong and how to get your Cash App money to show up in your bank account.
Why Is My Cash App Money Not Showing Up in My Bank Account?
As hinted earlier, if you’re facing the issue of your Cash App money not showing up in your bank account, you’re not alone. Hundreds of Cash App users have also found themselves in this scenario, and interestingly, there’s always a fix.
There are two primary reasons you may face this problem: you either don’t know what you’re doing or there’s a problem with either Cash App or your bank. Here are the problems that might be causing the scenario explained in detail.
- You didn’t select the Instant Deposit option
When trying to cash out money to your bank account, you’ll notice that there are two selectable options: the Standard Deposit and the Instant Deposit. When you select the Instant Deposit option, you get charged, but the money gets to your bank account instantaneously.
On the other hand, selecting the Standard Deposit option will make you wait for around 1 to 3 days to access the money after requesting to cash out. That’s exactly where many people get confused. If you’ve selected the Standard Deposit option, you have to wait for 72 hours before you can complain about any issues with the money not showing up in your bank account.
- The transaction failed
While the vast majority of Cash App cash-out transactions end up successful, there are times when the transaction will fail for one reason or another. When the transaction fails, there’s either an unusual delay in the transfer of Cash App will return the money to your account.
In most cases, you should receive a notification from Cash App about the failure of the transaction and you should already know about their decision. You can open Cash App and take a look at your balance to see if the amount is still deducted. You can retry the transaction if it failed.
- Cash App servers were down
Sometimes, the problem with the unnecessary delay in transferring money from Cash App to your bank account is a result of a breakdown in the app’s servers. Cash App has a couple of servers, which are computers that handle requests from customers all day long.
If the servers handling transfers and the cash-out feature develop a fault, every cash-out request made during the time frame will fail. When that happens, there’s not much you can do about it; you must wait for the server to come up, and then Cash App will decide whether to return your money or resend it.
- You haven’t initiated cash out request
Some new Cash App users think the money from their Cash App balance should automatically show up in their bank account, like some sort of synchronization. While that would be a cool feature to have on the app, it’s not available at the moment and you have to manage your bank account and Cash App independently.
So, to access the money on your Cash App balance in your bank account, you must use the cash-out option. You can cash out by heading over to the banking tab and selecting the “Cash Out” option. Then, you can specify how much you intend to deposit and authenticate the transaction.
How to Fix Cash App Money Not Showing Up in My Bank Account
The preceding section has explained some of the most common reasons why your Cash App money may not be showing up in your bank account. If you can recall, I mentioned that each one of those problems has solutions, unless you have no money in your Cash App balance, to begin with.
Here are some things to try when Cash App money doesn’t show up in your bank account.
- Wait
All you need to get your Cash App account back might just be a few hours of waiting. If you chose the Standard Deposit option while trying to cash out, you shouldn’t expect the money to show up in your account instantly. In that case, you may have to wait for hours or days to fix the problem.
- Initiate (or re-initiate) the cash-out request
I also explained earlier that money from your Cash App account doesn’t “sync” with money from your bank account. If you haven’t initiated a cash-out request already, you may want to head over to the banking tab on Cash App to cash out.
Also, you may need to re-initiate the request if the first request failed. Since I’ve already explained how to cash out using Cash App, I don’t think I have to go through the entire guide again.
- Contact support
For every other problem you might be having with getting money from your Cash App wallet onto your bank account, contacting the app’s support should fix it. There’s a support option in the app, but you don’t get the option to talk to a representative over the phone; it’s all text-based.
