Why Is My Cash App Balance Not Updating? {fix}

If you’re wondering why is my Cash App balance not updating, you may have encountered one of two scenarios.

The first is related to an issue with your card or bank account, while the second has to do with your privacy settings on the Cash App. Keep reading to learn more about each of these situations and how you can fix them quickly and easily in order to view your correct balance online and on your app.

What’s wrong with my account?

If you’re unable to access your account, we’ve got a few common reasons. If you can’t log in, make sure that: You don’t have 2-step verification enabled. Logging into an account with 2-step verification turned on requires a 6-digit code sent through text message or generated on an app.

Your security info is up to date in our system. Make sure your email address and phone number are correct in case we need to reach out for more information from you. You’re using a supported device. We currently support iOS, Android and desktop browsers. Our mobile apps are available on iOS and Android devices only. The browser you’re using supports modern encryption standards (HTTPS). Unfortunately, older versions of Internet Explorer do not support the modern encryption standards required by our site’s security protocol.

To get around these issues, try one of these workarounds: Use Google Chrome as your browser instead of Internet Explorer; it should work fine! On your computer, use a different browser, such as Firefox or Safari.

After confirming your identity, they will be happy to walk you through getting back into your account. Once again, remember that having two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled will prevent unauthorized users from accessing your account even if they know your username and password.

Resetting your account will fix everything.

If you’re still having trouble, you can try logging out of your account and back in again by clicking on Settings (the icon to your left) > Log Out. After you log back in again, check that your balance is correct. If it’s not, try deleting and reinstalling the app from Apple or Google Play; then, try logging in once more.

You should now see your updated balance. If you continue to have problems, please let us know!

Are you a Google user?

If you are using Google Authenticator on your phone and adding money to your Cash app via a debit card, it can take up to 30 minutes for that money to appear in your account. You will see a pending transaction in your account while you wait.

Once it’s confirmed by your bank, you will see a pending cash deposit notification from us. Please allow up to two hours for the verification process before calling customer service.

To get started with adding money into your Cash App wallet, open Cash App and enter an amount greater than $1.00 or any amount over $0.01—this adds money to your wallet instantly! It typically takes 2–3 business days for funds added directly into your bank account or via direct deposit to reach your Cash App wallet after uploading a photo of proof of identity.

Are you using a password manager?

If you’re like most people, there’s a decent chance that at least some of your accounts—email, bank, social media—are protected by just one password.

This means if someone figures out (or guesses) that password and uses it to access your accounts, they’ll have free rein. A strong password manager can help prevent that from happening.

A good one will generate strong passwords for each account, store them securely, and automatically log you into websites without having to remember or type in any credentials. It will also alert you when a site has been breached so you can change your credentials right away. There are many different options available, but here are three we recommend: LastPass, 1Password, and Dashlane.

Have You Changed Your Email or Phone Number Recently?

If you’ve changed your email or phone number in your account, it might take up to two business days for these changes to show up on your Cash App.

Make sure you’re signed into an updated account and try again. If that doesn’t work, contact Cash App, and they will verify if anything needs updating on our end.

Then choose Contact Support via Twitter DM from our list of options (or reach out using any other method listed). We’ll get back to you as soon as possible!

This is a common issue, but luckily there’s a super simple fix—just update your information in the app! Click More > Settings & Privacy > Verify Number & Security Info. Enter your new number, hit submit.
